Introduction
Adolescence is a time when inconsistency in difficult behavior can be very clear and engages in risky behaviors including these. A correctional center is a center for maintaining, reforming and educating children and teenagers who have been sentenced for committing delinquency. One of the most influential reasons among the many causes of high-risk behaviors among teenagers is the role of the family and parenting styles of parents. Also, one of the other important factors in the comparison between non-delinquent and delinquent teenagers, which can be effective in their tendency towards high-risk behaviors, is their level of self-control which represents a part of the challenging relationship between emergence and suppression of feelings Physical and mental negative symptoms.
Method
The current research is quantitative, practical and of a causal-comparative type, and its statistical population included 100 delinquent teenagers and 100 non-delinquent teenagers who are students in Isfahan city And The post-test design was used with two study and comparison groups. The findings were analyzed in spss software using the multivariate variance analysis method.
Finding
The Result showed There was a significant difference between permissive and authoritarian parenting styles in normal and delinquent However, no significant difference was observed in the use of authoritative parenting style in the two groups. Also, there was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of the self-control variable and its four subscales, i.e., self-regulation, impulsive actions, healthy habits, and work ethic. Finally, there is a significant difference between normal and delinquent teenagers in terms of the prevalence of risky behaviors and its five subscales, i.e., tendency to drugs, alcohol, smoking, tendency to violence, and tendency to dangerous driving, and the mean scores in the delinquent group were significantly higher.
Discussion
Based on the final conclusion of this research it can be pointed out that the family and their parenting styles in dealing with their children and teenagers have an undeniable role in the appearance or seeing risky behaviors of teenagers such as aggression. In fact, parents of teenagers do not teach their children any restrictions and rules through permissive parenting, and they show a lot of love towards them, which can cause problems in the friendship between teenagers and their friends, as well as not learning the rules. Also, children’s failure to learn the rules due to the negligence of their parents can cause misbehavior and aggression in school and lower their academic quality. More carelessness by the parents of delinquent teenagers can be a prelude to the spread of risky behaviors such as drug addiction and especially aggression and delinquency.
Regarding the use of authoritarian parenting style in the upbringing of teenagers, researches mention that the use of authoritarian parenting causes the unquestioning obedience of parents’ orders for children to be in full priority over their own wishes and opinions, and this causes a sense of independence. Being in them is weakened and one of its consequences can be mentioned aggressive behavior, delinquency, lack of affection and interest in their social encounters. According to the topics raised in the context of the lack of significant difference in the use of authoritative parenting style between parents of normal and delinquent teenagers, it can be said that appropriate training for teenagers such as correct interpersonal relationships, effective communication skills with others, boldness skills, control Anger and learning to have a problem-oriented approach to various events are among the factors that reduce the level of aggression and delinquency in them. Also, about the level of self-control and its four components, i.e., self-regulation capacity, impulsive/intentional actions, work ethics and healthy habits in normal and delinquent teenagers, it can be mentioned that low self-control and the inability to control emotions are among the reasons for adolescent impulsiveness, as well as academic failure and social communication will decrease.
In addition, low self-control can cause aggressive behavior and direct violence in teenagers, which naturally can make it difficult for them to communicate with friends in school and other social environments. In the context of the comparison between delinquent and non-delinquent groups in terms of the prevalence of high- risk behaviors in 5 subscales of tendency to drugs, alcohol, smoking, violent behavior and dangerous driving, it is significant that according to the results obtained between the two groups of There is no significant difference between the orientation towards sexual behavior and the tendency to have a relationship with the opposite sex, which can indicate that the presence in the teenage stage and its nature has a high influence on the sexual instinct in the relationships of teenagers, as well as cultural and social changes. In societies, it has caused the desire to have a relationship with the opposite sex and sexual intercourse in non-criminal youths.
