Aim: Adolescence can be the basis of problems such as aggression and risky behaviors, and these problems are in delinquency and the nature of keeping teenagers in correctional and educational centers. The present study was conducted with the aim of comparing parenting styles, self-control and the prevalence of risky behaviors in non-delinquent and delinquent teenagers. Method: The research was quantitative, applied and of a causal-comparative type, the statistical population included 100 delinquent teenagers of the correctional center and 100 non-delinquent teenagers in secondary schools Isfahan province in 1401-1402, and 30 people were randomly selected from each group. Tools include Baumrind's parenting style questionnaires (1972) Tanjeni's self-control (2004), adolescent risk-taking scale (2013), and statistical analysis was done using spss23 software and multivariate analysis of variance. Result: The results showed the two groups had a significant difference in permissive and authoritarian parenting styles of parents (p<0.05). In self-control, the scales self-regulation, impulsive actions, healthy habits and work ethics had significant differences between the two groups, and non-delinquent teenagers showed higher self-control(p<0.05). There was a significant difference between two groups in the five scales high-risk behaviors, tendencies towards drugs, alcohol, smoking, violent behavior and dangerous driving, and delinquent teenagers were more inclined (p<0.05). Conclusion: Based on the present study, Permissive and authoritarian parenting style, low self-control and tendency to risky behaviors are the factors that cause juvenile delinquency and it shows the necessity of educating parents in the field of parenting and increasing self-control of adolescents.
