Life-expectancy was the most important man's achievement in the 20th century so that life-expectancy has been passed over 66 years old throughout the world at the beginning of the 20th century. According to the last census, the population of aged people who are over 60 years old in Iran is about 4 milion. A number of this elderly subjects were public servants who are now retired. Because people are retired in 60 years old in most countries they are considered as aged of a country when they get 60 years old or more. Retired people general have more free times that aged ones and spending this spare time not to be satisfactory and acceptable, could result in depression and hopelessness and may other problems. This research was designed by the aim of reviewing the proportion of the Tehran city retired utilizing from leisure time and its related factors. In this study 384 retired people of Tehran were examined by cross-sectional method whose average ages were 65.76 years old (+/- 6.64) which included 66.7% male and 33.3% female. Between various activities, benefits of visiting their relatives with 72.2% and watching film in cinema with 3.1%, are contained the maximum and the minimum rates orderly. Profiting by meeting relatives had no significant relationship with the concerned factors (Sex, Job, Age at retirement, Monthly payment, How is living with other leisure time in 24h, Birthplace, Education and Age) In multi variat analyzing, whereas profiting by watching film in cinema had significant relationship with gender of retired as a factor (p=0.002). Women were enjoied from cinema more than men. But interest was more important factor in their utilizing and benefits. Despite of referring by a majority of the retired to financial difficulties, in fact this factor a less important determinant in utilizing leisure time. Absence of planning and management of time are the most essential problem of retired which are considered by responsible persons
