Abstract:   (768 Views)
Introduction: One of the most serious social prblems is domestic violence against women, which can lead to serious physical, psychological and social injuries. The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the mediating role of men's resilience in the relationship between men's psychological flexibility and domestic violence against women.
Method: The present study was a descriptive correlational research design. The statistical population consisted of 3,958 married women living in Varzaneh city in 2021. Based on Klein’s criterion, a sample size of 230 participants was determined and selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using the Domestic Violence Against Women Questionnaire developed by Gorbani et al. (2011), the Psychological Flexibility Questionnaire by Bond et al. (2011), and the Resilience Scale developed by Freiberg et al. (2003). The collected data were analyzed using structural equation modeling with SPSS-23 and AMOS-24 software.
Findings: The results showed that psychological flexibility and resilience negatively predict domestic violence against women. There was a significant positive relationship between psychological flexibility and resilience. Also, the full mediation model had a better fit than the partial mediation model, that is, resilience was able to reduce the relationship between psychological flexibility and violence against women.
Discussion: Strengthening the psychological flexibility and resilience of spouses can have positive effects in reducing positive effects to reduce domestic violence against women.
