The present research has been done to study the tendency to addiction among individuals over 10 years old in Ardebil Province in 2002. The tendency rate to addiction was measured by the test made by the researcher on the basis of such parameters as age, sex, marital state, narcotic use record, cigar use record, family income amount, residence, and so on totally together with 16 independent variables and 77 levels of these variables. In the said test the different dimensions of the tendency had been considered. The statistical community for this research included individuals over ten years old in Ardebil Province in 2002, and 598 individuals were tested using the "cluster sampling" method. This research used the "descriptive survey" method. In order to describe the data such as average, variance, standard deviation regarding the tendency to addiction and in order to analyze the information the one-way variance analyzing method (ANOVA) and follow-up Tukey test (HSD) were used to study the significancy of the mean differences with the probability of 95% (a=5%). The results showed that the tendency to addiction among such groups such as unemployers, uneducated people, villagers, countryside residents, families who had a record in using narcotics, high dimension families and in some cities of the province such as Meshgin Shahr, regarding other levels of the groups was high and had significant difference.
