Introduction: Responsiveness is a critical metric in evaluating rehabilitation services, given their long-term and continuous nature. This study aimed to assess the responsiveness of rehabilitation centers affiliated with the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences (USWRS) from the perspective of their service recipients.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2024 among all service recipients of USWRS-affiliated rehabilitation centers in Tehran. The World Health Organization’s Health System Responsiveness Questionnaire was administered, and 384 valid responses were collected. Data were analyzed using SPSS software (version 22).
Results: The age of participants ranged from 3 to 78 years, with a mean of 34.28 (±25.08) years. The overall responsiveness score was above average. Outpatients reported significantly higher responsiveness scores than inpatients. Among the responsiveness dimensions, social support received the lowest score (3.73), while confidentiality received the highest (3.91). A significant difference was observed in mean responsiveness scores across the three centers: Asma (4.04), Nezam Mafi (3.90), and Rofeideh (3.71). Furthermore, higher responsiveness scores were reported by women, married individuals, and those covered by health, social, or supplementary insurance.
Discussion: The dimension of social support requires targeted policy attention to strengthen support systems for rehabilitation service recipients. These findings can inform strategies to improve the performance of rehabilitation centers, enhance service quality, and ultimately increase service recipient satisfaction.
