Communication and communication skills are very important in human life, especially family life. Communication is a ground that the other dimensions of family life are based on it. In this thesis "the role of communication skills on family function" was studied. The samples were 16 couples (8 couples in the control group and 8 couples in the experimental group) of married students of Tehran University that were in Jalal Al-Ahmad Dormitory. The research method was pre-test and post-test with Control Group design. The analysis of this data has shown that the all of hypotheses of this research is confirmed (p0.05). The research has shown that communication skills increased the family function in problem solving, communication, roles, affection responsiveness, affection involvement, and behavior control.
