The idea was tested in Iran and the United States, but it did not end up with the planned strategy and then abandoned. Method: The method of this paper was an overview and a narrative review type was used, and what was considered from the sources related to the subject and purpose of the study was critically analyzed. Findings: Tattoo or burning a part of the skin of slaves, criminals or traitors to the country in the ancient world was a way of introducing them as slaves or moral corruptors. Later in the modern era, character and identity of individuals were stigmatized by rulers to isolate them from the field of rivalry. The debates on the identity, alienation and metamorphosis crisis in the classical literature of the modern age were reflected in the analysis and interpretation of the process of stigmatization, which integration of this process with the characteristics of cyberspace, especially in Iran, requires new analysis and policies. Discussion: From a number of aspects, especially the emergence of cyberspace crime, the approach to use positive stigma against criminals was seen as ineffective in countering the spread of social deviances.
